Bio
Boots Ottestad is a Norwegian songwriter/producer based in Montclair, NJ. After spending the late 90s as the lead singer, writer and producer of the Getaway People, touring the US and Europe till it hurt, he packed in the road for the tranquillity of home. The group managed to put out two albums on Columbia Records and went on the road with the Dave Matthews Band, the Barenaked Ladies etc.
Since then Boots has written songs with/for artists like Robbie Willams, Thomas Dybdahl, Katherine McPhee, Tim McGraw and Macy Gray. He has also had music featured in major movies (Crazy Beautiful, Bring it on etc.) and tv shows (Dirty Sexy Money, Brother/Sister, The Hills, Desperate Housewives etc.).
For some reason, the people who make music for tv and radio commercials think Boots sounds like the heartland of the US of A. He therefore heads in to Union Square on a regular basis to sing jingles for Budweiser, Mastercard, Wendy's and whatever else you can sell on tv. He thanks his lucky stars for Val's Artist Management on a regular basis. Boots is desperately in love with his family; When he's not working he's with his kids Harry and Lucy, trying to give Edie a break from the little devils.
